"Behold,
how good and how pleasant it is for
brethren to dwell together in unity .
for there the LORD commanded the
blessing, even life for evermore."
Awakening
and Renewal
The Greater Huntsville
Pastors Prayer Summit (GHPPS)
gathering is open to all Christian leaders
(para-church ministries, Christian
counselors, church staff ministers) and
pastors throughout the greater Huntsville
area. The Greater Huntsville Pastors Prayer
Summit movement is not a ministerial
association, but is a fellowship committed
to praying for spiritual renewal and
awakening in both the local church and
surrounding community. Out of the
realization that no one local fellowship can
reach an entire city, our prayer is for God
to "fan into flame" His presence, Word, and
very life of Jesus Christ through a critical
mass of local churches throughout the city
and region, in the ultimate hope of seeing
the multitudes in the greater Huntsville
region come to a "saving" knowledge and
experience of Jesus Christ as Messiah and
Lord.
The Greater Huntsville
Pastors Prayer Summit is not a
reflection of the old ecumenicalism of the
60's and 70's. We gather under the banner of
the deity of the person of Jesus Christ and
traditionally orthodox "core theology" from
backgrounds ranging from Presbyterian,
Assembly of God, United Methodist,
Independent, Inter-Denominational, House
Churches, Southern Baptist, Pentecostal,
Mainline, Charismatic, Liturgical,
Third-Wave, and Evangelical.
If you are a pastor or Christian
leader in this city who cares about seeing
and experiencing God reach the "lost"
through the local church and in this city,
you are invited to join us for time of
unified prayer before God's throne of grace.
"That
they all may be ONE; as thou, Father,
art in me, and I in thee, that they also
may be ONE in us that the world may
believe that thou hast sent me ... that
they may be made perfect in ONE; and
that the world may know that thou hast
sent me, and hast loved them, as thou
hast loved me."
"And the smoke of the
incense, which came with the prayers
of the saints, ascended up before
God out of the angel’s hand. And
the angel took the censer, and
filled it with fire
of the altar, and cast it into the
earth
and there were voices, and
thunderings, and lightnings, and
an earthquake."
(Rev 8:4-5)
